Anja Heymann
Anja Heymann (* Bremerhaven) studierte Medienkunst an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig. Nach ihrem Diplom in Installationskunst und Raumkonzepten bei Prof. Joachim Blank setzte sie ihre künstlerische Tätigkeit fort. Bis 2013 arbeitete sie in der Vermittlung zwischen Kunst und Wissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Workshopdesign am Fraunhofer-Zentrum für Internationales Management und Wissensökonomie. Seit 2017 ist sie Mitbegründerin der Projektgruppe Formation 7. Ihre Arbeiten waren in nationalen und internationalen Gruppenausstellungen zu sehen, u.a. im Deutschen Historischen Museum in Berlin und im Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig. Anja erhielt das erste Arbeitsstipendium des Vereins zur Förderung der Juliane Noack Künstlerförderung. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Leipzig.
Ausgehend von Alltagserfahrungen erforscht Heymann die Gegensätze, sei es in Materialien oder in Konzepten. Sie interessiert sich für das Sammeln von kleinen Objekten wie Nadeln oder Haaren, die sie immer wieder zu großformatigen Kompositionen arrangiert, die hypnotische und meditative Landschaften bilden. Jedes der kleinen Elemente trägt zur Massivität des Ergebnisses bei, das sich zwischen den Seiten einer Rüstung oder eines Mantels, eines Werkzeugs oder einer Waffe bewegt. Ihre räumlichen Installationen werden oft zum Medium der Performance erweitert, bei der die Künstlerin Menschen einlädt, mit ihrem Werk zu interagieren und eine Spur zu hinterlassen. Bei diesen partizipatorischen Performances geht es Heymann vor allem um die Extrovertiertheit der Teilnehmer.
Anja Heymann (* Bremerhaven) studied media art at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. After completing her Diploma of Fine Arts in Installation Art and Spatial Concepts under Prof. Joachim Blank, she continued her artistic activities. Until 2013, she worked in the mediation between art and science, focusing on workshop design at the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economics. Since 2017, she has been a co-founder of the project group Formation 7. Her work has been featured in national and international group exhibitions, including the German Historical Museum in Berlin and the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig. Anja received the first working scholarship from the Association for the Development of Juliane Noack Artist Promotion. She lives and works in Leipzig.
Drawing from everyday experiences, Heymann explores the opposites, whether in materials or in concepts. She is interested in collecting small objects, like needles or hair, which she repetitively arranges into a large scale compositions, that form a hypnotic and meditative landscapes. Each of the small elements contribute to the massiveness of the result, that moves between sides of being an armor or a coat, a tool or a weapon. Her spatial installations are often expanded into the medium of performance, where the artist invites people to interact with her work and leave a trace on it. Regarding these participatory performances Heymann is mostly interested in the extroversion of the participants.
